It seems like I have a story every Sunday now about what dumb thing I did boating the day before. Yesterday we spend 6+ hours on the lake, luckily I was liberal with the sunscreen and I didn’t get burnt. Unluckily I thought I was a professional wakeboarder and took a nasty spill on the water and either bruised/cracked a rib or seriously pulled a muscle. So I didn’t get much sleep last night and am a little off because it hurts. But either way here are some articles I liked this week along with some contests you should check out.
The sites:
The Weakonomist covered a great topic in discussing How Credit Card Companies Make Money
My Life ROI asked the Question is Suze Orman Not Equipped to Educate Us which resulted in a large comment discussion.
Your Money Relationship has a great list of 14 Things to Avoid Saying in an Interview
Finally check out the article Don’t Fear the Reaper, plan now over at Centsiblelife.
The Contests:
I chose a winner for my contest to win a copy of An American Hedge Fund, the lucky Winner David will be e-mailed to get his info to send the book to.
The Weakonomist is running a contest to win the book “Biography of a Dollar”

Improve the Quality is giving away a $25 Gift Card for Amazon.
Every Sunday I try to highlight 4 or 5 articles from around the blogosphere which I found particularly insightful. This week I want to highlight some of the bloggers who have hit mainstream media this week, as well as some of the newer bloggers who are getting interviewed on other blogs.
Jim with Bargaineering was on ABC News talking about Credit Reports. It is pretty cool to see bloggers making it into mainstream media like this. Maybe one day I will make it to the big time.
Get Rich Slowly was mentioned in the Wall Street Journal along with Jim from Bargaineering. I can barely get a link from another blog, these guys are PFblog superstars.
The Weakonomist was interviewed by Manshu at Onemint.com and Clare at Money Energy this week. Check them both out to get some insight into the inner working of this mystery blogger.
Baker from Man Vs. Debt was interviewed this week by Green Panda Treehouse. If you haven’t noticed Baker has managed to do what few bloggers can. He has exploded onto the personal finance scene with a vengeance. Read this interview to find out a little more about him.
I am truly honored that Suburban Dollar was included as one of the Top 10 Up and Coming Personal Finance Blogs according to Nickel and Blogs.com. Check out the list and make sure you check out each of these great blogs.
Don’t forget we are giving away another book. This week we are giving away “An American Hedge Fund” by Timothy Sykes. There are three ways to enter so stop by and get your entries in today.
