Well it is Friday again, seems like the weeks just keep getting shorter and I am getting less and less accomplished. Sometimes I wonder if I am just spreading myself a little to thin. Nothing I can do about it right now though. There is too much to do to just sit around on my laurels hoping it will do itself. With that said I have yet again had a failure in getting enough people to send me a link for inclusion in my round up. I guess people don’t like free links anymore. Either way here are the few who did want to be included:
@PFFirewall provides a guide to income based repayment. I am finally out from under my student loan but the payments on it weren’t all that big to begin with. I was fortunate to have gotten my loans when rates were dirt cheap and I was only paying like 1.5% on my loans. This sounds like an interesting option for those of you soon to be struggling with Student loan payments.
@FourPillars had a guest post on leveraging credit cards for investment purposes. I am not a big fan of leveraging a credit card for much of anything. Investing is a gamble even when you aren’t borrowing money to do it. With the stock market you always run the risk of losing your money then you are stuck with a $25k Credit Card Balance and no way to pay it back.
@EverydayFinance explains his effective tax rate. I guess I miss a lot of deductions or something. I don’t know what my effective tax rate is but I know I didn’t get back anywhere near what I paid in for taxes this past year. It is scary to realize how little people actually end up paying in taxes.
@MichaelPiper submitted a list of online brokerage firms for inclusion from his new project “IRA Reviews.” I am actually getting ready to open my first taxable investment account next week. I plan to open an account with ScottTrade. I will let you all know how it goes.

I’m all about getting links and the like, but I usually only submit my articles to the blog carnivals. I’ve always seen my round-ups as a way to highlight favorite articles that I personally enjoyed reading. It’d be a much greater honor to appear on Suburban Dollar’s weekly roundup because you read my blog (you do read it, don’t you? *grin*) and enjoyed an article enough to include it. Having it appear solely because I sent a link to you kind of takes some of the fun out of it.
Just my $0.02
