Citi Credit Cards for College Kids
Citi is currently offering two credit cards geared towards the college bound. While I don’t necessarily advocate the use of credit cards, if you are going to be spending the money anyway you might as well maximize the rewards you are getting for spending it. The two cards are the Citi® mtvU™ Card and Citi® Forward™ Visa Card. Details regarding both cards follow:

A word of warning: Citi likes to randomly single out college student applicants for a stringent “verification” process that can be extremely hard to pass, depending on how your school does things. It happened to me, and I couldn’t get the Citi mtvU card: http://poorerthanyou.com/2007/10/18/best-student-credit-card-is-application-hell/
Wow, that does sound like a crazy experience. I guess you always have the option to say forget it if it gets that bad.
