Every Sunday I highlight four or five articles from across the blogosphere which I found particularly insightful or interesting. Today’s theme is the dreaded Swine Flu. Not surprisingly several of the personal finance bloggers out there have run Swine Flu inspired articles. I personally think people are blowing this whole thing way out of proportion. Wash your hands and if you are sick, stay home and while you are sitting around the house read the following articles:
Steadfast Finances ran a piece on understanding the Fear Trade and how the markets are affected by disaster and pandemic fears.
The Weakonomist over at Weakonomics made a great comparison between the swine flu and recessions.
Jeff Rose with Good Financial Cents did an in depth look at what the swine flu is and other influenza pandemics from the past.
Wallet Pop discusses whether or not banks and credit cards would work during a true pandemic situation.
Finally Traders Narrative has a list of stocks which you should watch during this swine flu madness.

Nice; I also wrote up a couple on H1N1…pandemic preparedness and general updates. What sorts of supplies people need if a pandemic were to occur. I studied H5N1 back a few years ago in detail as well, so it’s more than a passing concern, I guess!
Could previous inoculations (1976) affect susceptibility to H1N1?
